Professional dancers have been noted to have an injury rate as high as 67% - 95% per year and approx. average of 1.7 to 6.7 injuries per dancer per contract year. (PAMA 2020)

One of the most common presentations of these injuries is in the form of Repetitive Stress Injuries.

What Are Repetitive Stress Injuries(RSI)?

These are injuries that happen when too much stress is placed on a part of the body through repeated use or activity.

The most common injury sites for dancers are as follows:

  1. Foot & Ankle

  2. Hips

  3. Spine 

  4. Knee / Leg
